So, for a little "comfort" I opted for the BMW alarm. However, after leaving it over night in the garage, I leaned/tilted the bike to see if the alarm would go off this morning before I put the key in........ NOTHING.... not even a warning beep or anything..

Would anyone know how to check if it has been activated? I recall when taking the bike for a test ride, the salesman said they have de-activated the alarm....

I just want to know how to re-activate it if it has been de-activated.

Thanks as always in advance..

If the alarm is on you will have a flashing led at the top right of the instrument panel. To switch it on use the trip button to select the 'set up equipment' menu. Then select 'setup DWA'. Then select 'on'. I hope this helps.

Also it can be configured to activate in different ways, but I'll be honest I've never gotten round to it. Mine was set to arm with a press of the rough button within 10 seconds of key off.

It is also possible that the alarm has been de-activated by the dealer. In which case it would need them to re-enable it.

Perfect... Alarm is now enabled !! Weird how it was not enables by default !!

Many thanks.... Lots of reading to do now !

Oooh different.

Yes. The GSA came with factory alarm, and no fobs. It's armed when you take the key out and vice versa. So, if I take the key out of the ignition to unlock a pannier, the alarm goes off. Stupid system so it is permanently disabled on my bike. The old system with the fob is IMO better by design.

edit - I think I can sell a kidney and buy fobs for it but have never looked into it.
