Hello all,

Picking up a brand spanking s1000rr with all the goodies from Lind motorrad tomorrow. It'll be the first bike I've had with all of the electronics and have seen how effective they are on track having chased plenty and seen them disappear! Have been riding track only the last couple of years and I'm still obsessed with finding hrc parts for my fleet of sp1/2s! Look forward to learning about these bikes and have already made the mistake of looking at the available accessories, levers or rearsets or exhaust first?. Here's to divorce. Adam

Welcome to the Bavarian side. It's not just the electronics its the monster engine that's been stomping off into the distance!

Assuming you mean the VTR SP1/SP2 then have a soft sport for them, if I had the spare ???'s I would love to have one.

Hi Alex yes sp1/sp2 have always been a favourite, where abouts in Norfolk are you? Adam

Welcome the forum Adam and congratulations on your new RR!
As Alex says, welcome to the Bavarian side!

Enjoy experimenting with all the electronic settings and modes, it's well worth doing to find "your" ideal set up.

Re mods, I would personally suggest crash protection first and foremost along with radiator and oil cooler guards. With regard to leavers and rearsets, that depends whether or not you're happy with the stock positions etc I guess.
For what it's worth, I have the HP rearsets, and although very good I would recommend Alpha Racing instead as it's far easier to source individual replacement parts.

Enjoy the forum, and may you have many happy miles ahead of your on two wheels :)

Oli

Hi Adam, the SPs are wonderful machines but you will find the new s1000rr light years ahead in most departments.

Enjoy your bikes and the site.

Wow, this is the easiest bike I have ever ridden, very happy although I am already finding after Dunlop race rubber for the last few years the oem bridge stones feel "dead" and the foot pegs feel quite slippery with daytona boots, which rearsets then gents?

Glad you're enjoying the bike Adam!

Re rearsets, I would recommend Alpha Racing or Lightech as the HP rearsets are notoriously difficult to source individual replacement parts

Thank you all so far for the warm welcome, lightech R seem to be the way I'm leaning for rearsets. The bike now has a hundred more miles on so looking forward to getting into higher revs, brakes seem the best oem I've had, but I'm now finding I would like a harder less slippery seat. Next step is trying to calibrate my brain to maybe lean on the electronics........old habits die hard.
