New member not yet an owner

Just joined as im looking to upgrade my 2008 yamaha r1 for a more modern trackday bike. Ill mainly be wanting to read old threads about faults and fixes before looking for a Gen 2 or Gen 3. Ive recently returned to trackdays after a 10 year ?rest? as my kids needed some of my attention and most of my money. Im in my late 50s and enjoying track time more than ever. Well hopefully i dont get the boot for not yet owning an s1000rr .

Welcome along and enjoy your stay.

You won?t go wrong with either the Gen 2 or 3 but what I always say is buy as new or more recent as you can afford so I?d be after the Gen 3. Plenty track bikes for sale with good specs, you?ll be chomping at the bit waiting for next season to begin, I know I can?t wait.

Thanks I've seen this and a few others it certainly looks like the gen 3 will be the way to go and just in budget.

I?d echo what the guys have said re Gen 3, they?re absolutely fantastic bikes.
