I ended up going for an AGV k5.
You can tell that the quality is not to the same level as a Shoei, but overall I really like it.
It's lighter than the GT-Air, it has a great micro-opening mechanism, and is less than half the price!

Sorry to revive an old thread, but how have you found the K5?

I'm in the market for a new helmet and I've a ?50 discout voucher for Dainese/AGV (thank you, Metzler).

It seems a very high spec for the price. I'm particuarly interested in how you find the comfort, stability and vision when you use it on the S1000RR.

Thanks

Until my mother-in-law dropped it my K5 was really good.
It was comfortable, and I didn't have any stability issues going all the way to the Nurburgring with it.
The pinlock is a little small for the visor, so the top of the pinlock is in your line of sight a little. You get used to it after a while.

Overall I found that it certainly punched above it's price, but it doesn't have the same premium feel as a Shoei.

I replaced it with a heavily discounted Schuberth S2, but that was more a reflection of my fickle nature, not a statement about the K5.
