Well popped into my local dealer today to catch up with one of the sales guys and ended up buying a new 2017 rr. Not the colour I would have chosen ( still looks nice in black and grey) but the deal was to good to miss.
image.jpgGot a couple of questions That I'm not sure about. Because I'm taking everything of my 2015 bike including the Tyco bodywork, will the gen 3 levers and rear sets fit the 2017 and also I need to lose that ugly cat/exhaust, has anyone fitted a link pipe that will mate up to an Akro slip on.

Cheers guys.

3k to swap, mine has 11k miles and I get to take everything of it (levers, rear sets, Akro, Titax wheels, Tyco bodywork and all carbon) and put it all onto the new one. It's a no brainer Andy, it will look exactly the same ( if I can get the exhaust to fit) and its a new bike. I just thought with mine having 11k miles and out of warranty and the deal I got I couldn't miss it.
i told my missus I was going for a run on the bike then phoned her an hour later for my bank card details lol.
I just need to see if everything will swap over.

Deffo a no brainier Budgie, 3k to swap which gives you two year warranty worth ?700 and reset your clock to zero. Great deal, now you just need to find a way round the exhaust which will end up simple and you get the enjoyment out of stripping and rebuilding a new toy.

Well done neebor.

Congratulations on your new RR Budgie, sounds like a fantastic deal indeed!

Yes your rearsets and levers will be directly transferable to the 17 model.
Re exhaust though, it looks like a slip on? If so, as you say you'll need a link pipe or set of Akrapovic decat headers to use your Tyco belly pan.

Look forward to seeing photos once all is done :)!

Rearsets just need the exhaust hanger removed to fit the 17 unless you are using a full system. You also avoid the ?800 valve and suspension service at 18k

Mine was in at East Kilbride middle of last month for its 2nd annual service and I asked how much it was for the biggie next year , they reckoned about the ?550 mark.

I'm thinking of taking mine down to Stephen for the big one Duncan..I think I was quoted 700 or thereabouts from Dalkeith, however ?550 is appealing...I'm sure Stephen quoted me less than ?400 when I enquired a while back.

Yeah , their prices are certainly competitive when you see what some people on here are paying.

I'd recommend splitting the job and getting a suspension specialist to do the suspension work and set up at same time. MCT are good.

Nice one Budgie. Though surely you can make the new one a Tyco too? It will all bolt on won't it?
As for the link pipe I'm not sure if there is one yet.

Yeh everything fits and is getting swapped over apart from the bellypan. Think I'm going to paint the new bellypan to match the rest of the Tyco fairings and may get the stubby Akro for now until I can sort the exhaust out to fit the HP Akro I've removed from my old one or put a full system on it.<br>somebody did tell me that Phil Crowe had produced a link pipe for the 2017 but not sure.

Nice one Budgie, sounds like a smart move, you've one if the best looking S1k's I've seen

That's unreal.
I had my bike serviced today and asked what it would be to change.
15 plate Motorsport 7k miles with all bells and whistles. Although it's been down there absolutely minimal damage on the paintwork and I was told I wouldn't be penalised for it.
?6500 was the figure.
Could he a forum bulk buy at your price if your man can get more of them!

What are you doing with the wheels? I love the blue ones you have on the current Tyco rep? I can totally understand the change at 3k extra to basically take you back to brand new again, with a couple days of labour to swap over all your bits!!
