Morning,

got an engine light on, gs911 says knock sensor 1, circuit a, short circuit to ground. Recalibrating doesn?t work, everything still runs fine. Is it a case of replacing the sensor, if so how much of a pain in the arse is it?

the sesnor is easy, getting to it not so much (they are under the throttle bodies, either side of the thermostat) . i've always either remioved them, or unplugged them in the past without any issues (no faults etc).

Ta, might just unplug it for now then until I have a reason to remove stuff?

suppose next question is which is sensor 1? I assume left side?

just unplug them both, but yea, assume left side is 1

So just to close this out in case anyone has similar in future, unplugging sensor 1 cleared the code. Super.

Then a track day at Snett brought the engine management light on again, and the bike was ever so hesitant to pull in lower gears. GS911 deployed, and it was complaining about the missing sensor. Clearly, the Woolich tune hasn't mapped the knock sensors out then...

No harm done, new sensor ordered and will be fitted tonight. Hopefully thats the end of it.
