Key troubles

Hi guys. I have a gen 3 s1000rr and recently I lost the middle section of the key which is a silver piece of metal which connects through the middle of the key. It also has the bmw logo on it. Has anyone got any idea how I can get a replacement without having to buy the whole key or if someone has an old spare key lying around . Thanks in advance people

Could you contact a junk yard to see if they have keys for any of the cars that have been totaled?
