Hi everyone , I'm looking to buy my first s1000rr in the next week or so , i currently don't ride anything

I have the chance to buy a 2015 in black s1000rr 32k miles is excellent condition

The guy wants ?8500 for the bike
My questions are ,

Is the bike worth ?8500 with that milage and is the milage going to be a problem ? Is it high and will i need major serving soon ?

Thanks everyone

As long as it's been properly maintained and well looked after the mileage wouldn't worry me. I've had several bikes I've owned from new and done 12-15,000 miles a year with no issues. Regular oil changes, good cleaning regime and replacing worn parts when needed and most modern bike will easily last big miles.

A bit anal but I keep every receipt and have a little notebook for every bike I own detailing maintenance, tyre changes, mileage etc. Aide memoire for me and always proves popular when prospective buyers come to look. Ask to see the maintenance records.

Can't help with the price, not sure what it would be worth without having a good look at it.

can you tell him to message me or pm me as i can't do it my end , only just joined so won't let me contact anyone

If you create a thread in the 'Welcome Area' section that'll authorise your account and allow you to PM people etc.

I won't go near it with a barge pole , I would of done a check on it before i bought it but glad i asked on here first , Thanks again

He contacted me today asking for me to send him copies of service documentation so he knows what needs doing on the service, or more to prove the service history to justify the price.
32k is genuine, and so is the damage to the steering lock where it was stolen recovered. Probably cost a few hundred for a seat and rear seat pod but still a hell of a mark up. Wouldn't mind betting he has welded a steering lock on as well.
Wish I'd let it go to a track user.
