Just traded in my 2014 Kawasaki ZX10r Tom Sykes 1 of 25 World Champion edition for a Pre 16 reg Tyco Replica, I'm due to collect on 1st July.

My Insurance renewal for the ZX10r was around ?200 with Bennett, but they wont Insure the Tyco without Tracker and different alarm system than the BMW ? !!!!

I cant seem to get a quote for the Tyco from anyone !!!

Hi Gray, Did I meet you at Ocean on Saturday ?

Online quote from MCE ?9000 with ?4000 excess no one knows what this bike his, Carole Nash, Bike Sure, even BMW Motorrad Insurance haven't got a clue all quoting stupid prices, cheapest I've had for a S1000rr sport is ?211 which basically is the same bike apart from extras and paintwork

Hi and welcome to the forum. Insurance can be a pita but worth ringing around. Good luck with it and congratulations on your new bike :).

The BMW alarm is not Thatcham approved. The BikeTrac is a great tracker and well worth the money/peace of mind.

No mate, wasn't me
good luck with the bike, loved the TYCO edition, nearest I've been to trading the HP since I've had it, just couldn't at the last minute

Hi to you Cornwall lads. I spend a lot of my time down in Perranporth visiting my mother on my 15. Might meet you guy's down there one day.

Hi Brom, Post Office were ?1000 cheaper than BMW for insurance, get your dealer to give you the 5 day cover when you collect (free) then shop around, Bike Trac is deffo worth it.

Welcome

Hi mate
I had a bit of a similar issue when I purchased my new S1rr went from ?164 fully comp fully protected for my blade to over a grand. The way I got round it was putting the value of the bike below 15k with bennetts. Good luck though cause it's a mine field.

Got a quote from Bikesure, ?425, as we all know valid for 7 days, cheapest I could find so went to pay only to find out my VFR800 was covered for the same price, while we went thru all the jargon last minute the payment system crashed !! Rep ring back as soon as its back up, which was a hour later only to find the system had updated to ?677 .... fook off !!..

So ended up with both bikes thru MCE for ?470, but ?1500 compulsory excess ffs !!!!

The Issue is with the Insurance is BMW Motorrad have not issued the TYCO with a AIB insurance code, if they did it would be a doddle.

Also got quotes for ?18k Aprillia RCV4 Factory ?280, ?23k Ducati 1298 panigale ?315.... they have AIB codes !
