Hi,

Can't believe I'm not already registered on here!? What happened there?!?

I'm in the UK in Leeds and are on my 4th S1000RR.
Previous rides (I'd I'll include as many as I can remember for comedic purposes, oldest first) have been:
  • Aprilia RS 125
  • Kawasaki ZX400R
  • Kawasaki ZX6R (2001)
  • Suzuki GSXR 750 (K1)
    • Honda Superdream 250 deluxe N
    • 250cc Motocross chinese import
  • Demon X 140xx pitbike
  • Suzuki GSXR 600 (K6)
  • 2010 S1000RR - Sport (Red/white/blue)
  • 2014 S1000RR - Sport (Red/black)
  • 2015 S1000RR - Sport (Black)
  • 2017 S1000RR - Sport (Red/white/blue).


Goes without saying the S1k is amazing as I'm sure the majority of you will agree. Can't see myself moving back or into Kwak/Suzuki/Yams/Ducatis in the future - how sad is that...
 
Hi Neil, Welcome to the site. Seems to be a theme developing with your last 4 bikes. Hope you like the forum as much as you clearly love your bike.

You?re certainly an S1K connoisseur that?s for sure ;)
BMW have definitely done an amazing job with our bikes, and like you I can?t imagine myself on anything else!

What sort of riding do you do primarily, (road, track, commuting etc)?

Enjoy the forum, there?s a fantastic community on here, and may you have many more happy miles ahead of you :)

Welcome along Neil and enjoy the forum. Great selection of bikes you have had, I had a superdream when I was 14 ( off road lanes...) It was a big old lump and a nightmare to lift up even with a helping hand from your “backie”

Hey Oli,

Mainly road to be honest. Don't commute - I work down south in Maidenhead so the commute would be dull... I've a huge diesel BMW car for that... I've enjoyed a couple of tracks over the years - mainly the Nurburgring / the IOM TT.. I'd love to take the S1k on track and have a few mates that regularly visit with track bikes - I just think its too much bike to throw down a race track :/

Hey Loupe, It was a lump! It was really comfy though - I ended up using it more than the GSXR it was that comfortable :)
Its quite possibly the only bike that I've every bought and then sold if for more money than I paid for it!! Cost me 112 quid and I rode it into the ground. When I sold if for spares I think I got 300 quid for it!

I'd consider one again to be honest...

Hi Alex,

I live up north in Leeds - it work down south. I?ve always fancied paying a visit to Ace Cafe, but generally wouldn?t have my bike down south. Is it worth the visit? Might bob in one week in the car to check it out...

No idea, never been myself!
Missed the work bit, commenting whilst still partially asleep does that!

Hi Neil, welcome to the forum. I'm not far from you in York. We have a forum deal for premier members with AJ if you use them for servicing and parts etc. Check it out if its relevant and will save you some cash.

Hey Alex - ah I've got that t-shirt!
If I ever visit while down south with work - I'll let you know how it compares with some of the northern meets - Sherbern's usually pretty good up here (for what its worth)

Yeah 20 minutes down the road - not far at all!
Have you got yourself a TYCO rep looking at the profile photo? - nice!

Don?t really get chance to follow the footy - if I?m not riding the s1000 then I?m either riding the MTB or under the family thumb ;)

Last time I went to a Leeds game Gordon straken was captain!!
