Pitting is only to be expected when you consider the bits that have been hitting it for 15000 miles Stuart, I put new ones in my bike after two years cause I had some spare but they were like this within a few months. I don't even think about it now, as long as it works that's braw. If a big stone cracks it I'll replace it but the freckles are just character, means you've been enjoying yourself.

No Stuart, mine looks pristine because I had it all venture shield protected.
 
The funny thing is its less chips and indents than simply this crazing..heat off the bulb is most likely suspect from what I can see.
