Driving home tonight near Peterborough, I see an R1 coming towards me, then 'you don't get red R1's - bloody hell its a gen 4 Sthou!'. A large chunk of whats left of the UK biking press is located in the Peterboghorror area so I'm guessing it was probably a press bike although in the brief time I saw it I noted the rider wasn't wearing Mr Neeves helmet (or Newbigging's for that matter - not sure he get a gen 4 now, maybe an R100RS or something...). But whatever, someone somewhere's now finally got a gen4 on the road!

Crap, I forgot to say, there was a red one in Oulton Park bike park 10 days ago at BSB too... so they are about!
Almost certainly the same one. One of the PB jorno's had it on test, and he works as a press officer in BSB also...
Sounds like you have an inside line here as I picked up the latest addition of (yawn) PS/PB and saw the RR test was a regurgitated Michael Neeves one from the launch plus a bit of dry track insight from the S22 launch.
