Gen 3 2017 Engine Oil

That is one mucky head, my new bmw its a diesel and it's first oil change is at 22k wonder what that will look like at 100k.

Your a brave man doing 20k without an oil change. Personally I believe changing oil every 12 months minimum in any engine, as oil will absorb moisture out the air, which is never going to end well.

I've run mainly BMW company cars over the last 14 years (one Merc) and all have done c130k miles over 4 years. Servicing has only been done when the self diagnosis flags it which typically means oil changes every 18k miles (6 months), I've had no issues with any of them.
