Been out for an aweome ride today with a mate, stopped for a coke and a chat and went to leave again and the bike wouldn't start. Ignition comes on, no warning lights etc, but no fuel pump prime and no start. Also wouldn't bump start.

Assuming this is the right hand switch gear common fault? The warranty on the bike expired a week ago....typical!

Cost me ?85 to be recovered 4 miles back home......robbing *******.

It could be the switchgear issue.

Was the bike in direct sunlight for a while? If so, cooling the switchgear can save the day. I used to carry a microfibre cloth with me on a bmw that had this problem so if it happened i soaked the cloth and wrapped the switchgear for 20 minutes, hey presto.

It was in the sun yes, but then was parked up in the shade for about 45 minutes before recovery turned up and still no joy.
Where's the best place to get a switch from, any ideas on cost?! Easy job to change?

There easy to get off, you just need a small torx screwdriver.

If you can get it off i can test it for you, if it?s broken I can repair it :) PM me if your interested.

Switch gear for sure, I used to have a spare until I fitted it to a stranded road bike to get the guy away again with the agreement he would give me it back when BMW fitted his new one.

Needless to say I never seen him again.

?85 to be recovered and you are being robbed? Out of interest how much would you expect to get recovered for?
