.......so you stayed in with your bike and this is the result of your man love? ;)

I'll avoid any more jokes (but I do like them) and ask a *serious* question. Does this snow-foam stuff actually work ie hose it off and its clean or does it just look nice (or amusing) and then you have to clean with sponge and cloths.

This is a serious question from someone who hates bike cleaning, but likes a clean bike, so any labour saving option is good :joyous:

I use a low pressure high temperature Karcher cleaner with a chemical called Virosol as the cleaning agent, mustn't let it dry on your bike though. A quick spray like what Stuart did and a rub over the bike with a microfibre glove to agitate it al then a ten minute low pressure rinse and the jobs a good one.

Hardly any effort and you can drink coffee and listen to Absolute 80's at the same time.

Jimmy, I just bought a hot washer as well - never quite sure how high to go temperature wise - I've set it between 50 - 60 degC and it seems to work very well......what temp are you using ?

I'd recommend cold water to rinse salt off, as warm activates the salt crystals and speeds corrosion.
Then move to the snow foam, which does work, don't let it dry, agitate with a soft brush or towel.
Then you can rinse with warm water.
Snow foam does strip all the polish/waxes etc. So you must rebuild that layer afterwards.
I'd personally use a lambs wool mitt and Meguirs NXT wash after the snow foam to go over it by hand.
Once that's rinsed off, it's a case of either clay bar'ing any imperfections still lingering before applying polish and then wax.

Hi Colin, had to go and check the dial there, yep between 50-60C.
Have you been out yet this year? Dunc is away to Florida this Friday but has promised to venture out after he gets back. Coincidentally or suspiciously my wife is away to Florida the same time, mmmmmmmm?
