Engine casing.

Evening all. Noticed a bit of corrosion on mine in several places. Any of you lot replaced an S1000RR engine on warranty coz of this? A mate of mine replaced his GSA engine on warranty due to this and the Garage says mine qualifies. but I s?pose they?re on for the work.
Worth doing? Obviously entails another running, but ignoring the re-running in, I?m not convinced that a new engine can only be a good thing. Doesn?t look too bad to me.
I?m planning to keep her as my day bike and then keep her for track days and don?t care about the engine appearance.

I had my sump replaced due to corrosion (known issue) but whole engine needing replaced due to corrosion sounds pretty bad (and expensive)

ive heard of a similar issue on a GS (coating of engine casing peeling) ...it was purely cosmetic but BMW replaced the whole engine under warranty.

Yes. That's what the garage is suggesting. I'll review just before 2 years warranty is up and then decide if it's actually a problem. I predict not.
