Hi, I am looking to find out how much the 1st service costs for a 2015 s1000rr sports are, and what work would be carried out when you buy the bike from new....

Does it need to be done at 600 miles and you cannot exceed 10000 RPS / going over 120mph.

Thanks in advance.

The 600 mile running in service is to change the oil and take the rev limiter off. I think its around ?100 but a number of dealers include it in the sale.

My '15RR had its first service at 600 miles last April at a main dealer, it has to be done for all the obvious reasons and consists of a check over and oil change which cost me ?80 in labour, ?58 oil and parts, ?28 VAT so ?166 in total.
I can't remember the rev. limit now, yes its a bit annoying but you can still enjoy the bike while your running in, just get up to 600ish miles as soon as you can! Of course the smart move is to buy an ex demo that has just had its first service and lost its first chunk of depreciation but is still essentially brand new...

I think you can have it done any time after 500 miles. The first few hundred miles wasn't to exceed 7k revs then it's limited to 9k from memory.
It's a real pain and I had to do it twice lol.
I was nearly caught out when overtaking a line of traffic, got to the second last car approaching a brow on the road then gave it more beans to be met with no more power with a car approaching....

I hope to be buying direct from BMW via Staff discount.... but there is a 2-3 month wait. :-(

First Service

My first service was free and was included as part of the deal when I ordered my S1000RR. The 9,000 rpm electronic restriction is lifted as part of the first service which is due at 600 miles. Your BMW Motorrad dealer will also update the bike's software if required and perform the usual oil and filter change amongst other things.
