I am planning a track day with my old "blade" mate at Brands....

I do not have a baffle with my Akra (not full system)... will it pass the noise test or do I need a baffle?

You say not a full system - do you have the cat?

The details of the track day should state the noise limit. That can should be ok at Brands in my experience - though I used the baffle cause it made no odds to have it fitted.

Prime Factors or HM Racing may well have spare baffles that are from systems they've fitted...

Brands Hatch Noise Limits

Brands Hatch Indy Circuit (Day): 102 db Static / 92 dB Drive-by.
Brands Hatch Indy Circuit (Evening): 102 db Static / 98 dB Drive-by.
Brands Hatch GP Circuit: 101 db Static / 92 dB Drive-by.

Static noise testing is measured at 5,500 rpm. For static noise testing you will be absolutely fine, but if you have a baffle then take it with you in the event that you trigger the drive-by noise meter just in case.

Akrapovič Baffle

Calsport have them in stock. Expect to pay around ?45.

Get the baffle. I was at Donington Park today with No Limits on a road bike day - 98db drive by limit. S1000rrs were being black flagged all over the place, including stock bikes. I short shifted most of the day but didn't bother on the last session and was immediately black flagged for tripping the noise meter at 99.9db. Marshalls also refused to tell us were the noise meters were located which seemed rather stupid to me.

Anyway, I have the Akra HP slip on can and will be ordering a baffle tomorrow as I'm also booked onto Brands in a couple of weeks.

Crickey didn't think the stock exhausts on the Euro 3's would be tripping the noise metres.

Looks like Ill have to get the baffle for the Akra HP Slip on then.

Are any stock 17 bikes failing? Guess they have even more stringent noise controls imposed upon them now.
