49 - always been a late starter....(apart from brief flurry in my teens),proper bikes since 1990, rode to Misano first year and ended up riding on track at World Ducati Week, albeit on a horrendous Suzuki RF900....
At least one foreign road trip a year since and trackday instructing this last 7 years, and, first foreign trackday proper Feb. this year, first race (my stag doo) with an Endurance team in May and getting married in October, the day after my 50th!!

50. Been riding bikes since early teens on a mates farm. Mostly been riding road bikes since late 20s but got into trackdays 5 years ago. Now do some racing just because I have to before I get too old.

Well most replies are over 40, which just confirms the common knowledge that BMW's are for "mature" riders.

Mostly because you have to be older to bloody afford one.

Bought mine at 27 now 30, whenever I go to the dealer I think some other customer is going to offer me a Werther's Original :p

28, bit of a late starter, been riding 2 years, planning on getting into trackdays this year.

I've met 2 other owners, one younger than me and one mid 40s.

age is nothing on a bike - experience counts for a huge amount - on a trip last year in France, the young pups had long since been dropped off between the roundabouts along a lengthy stretch of perfectly surfaced dual-carriageway and myself and the other lad leading the group were cranked over on a very fast sweeping steady right hander at approx. 140-145 when really amusingly , we were overtaken right round the outside by Jeff. ,on his VFR1200 and his bright yellow bib. I had only met Jeff a couple of days earlier and he was obviously two things 1. pretty old and 2. pretty good on a bike . As it turns out he is 75 , yes, 75 years old and still riding EVERY DAY without fail , on road , off road , the lot - awesome fella and the high point of that holiday which I laugh about to this day !!

Good luck with the racing btw

I'm 55, been riding since 74, cant ever see me giving up but may have to get something more suitable when I'm seventy, an rgs maybe, lol.

Goose what's your secret to turning back time, I could do with taking 19 yrs off my age or are u Benjamin Button?

That'll be 1974, oh the memories, nylon tyres with no grip even on dry roads, brakes in those days did absolutely nothing when applied in the wet only to violently lock up later, normally just before you crashed, flexy frames, headlights with the power of to candles, leather was a luxury only the rich could afford, body armour was un heard off, water proofs were anything but. On the plus side, roads were empty, no cameras and plod drove mk1 escorts, and we all loved the smell of two stroke.
