I had the carbon wheels on the road bike. Tyres and sussies are there to soak up lumps and bumps

did you try them back to back and back again.lol thats when i realized the lighter the wheels the less stable they are. my k5 1000's that i had bst's on had ktech cartridges and springs and were set up for fast road. still felt more stable with the oe wheels. yes it didnt change direction as quick with the oe wheels though but its all about finding the right balance.

Yeah i was switching a few times. I agree that super light wheels are a tad ott for the road but ybf most aftermarket stuff we put on is as well. Lets be honest a custom map , pc5 for a few more ponies is a little excessive. Even some of the oem stuff is not really needed for the road (anti rear wheel lift, duel braking etc) but we buy them for the "smile factor"

?1800 for the dymags is interesting but thats ?1800 i could put towards a new zero mileage bike...what do you think mines worth in px. 15 plate sport with all whistles and bells and 5000miles.

Don't understand why you're swapping it for the same spec bike, just going to get hit on new bike depreciation twice, whats your thinking?

its done 5000 miles and im not sure i want the newer gen 4 bike. i like this gen 3 and with the euro4 bikes im not sure how the exhaust situation will be as far as changing the can only. if theres a new gen 3 in motorsport colours for sale it wont be around long. it wouldnt be the same bike as im after one with the lighter wheels because i like the look of them and i have the standard wheels at the moment. allowing for depreciation when should you swap your bike?...if i get ?13000 for mine and find a new gen 3 for ?15000ish then its a no brainer imo.

edit. i bought my bike s/h privately with virtually no miles so didnt get the out the door hit.

Dunno, but I've always found it best to buy in Jan / Feb, I picked up an 800 mile 65 plate GSA TE for ?3k below list in Feb this year. I was looking at ebay earlier, quite a few gen3's appearing on there now, ?13k would be an excellent price to get for a '15 bike and ?15k for a new motorsport with forged wheels would also be a brilliant deal. You lose most depreciation on a bike in the first year, so I think it makes sense to keep a bike longer, will you really get the benefit on the road from lighter wheels? Up to you mate, if you're happy go for it.

imo no i wouldnt benefit from lighter wheels but they look cool.lol. its the getting a new no mileage bike with the wheels i want at the moment that appeals to me. might all change when i see the gen 4 beemer.

well that hunt is over. last one in country was sold in september.:( looks lie its off to the nec show to look at the 17

r25 according to my dealer, he's offering around ?10.5-11k for a Gen 3 Sport against a new 2017! .....insulting really but i guess they will farm it back out for around ?13k?? .....i'm sure some other dealers would offer you more??

hello, cheers. ive been in touch with a few dealers today and if they had what i was after then they all said they would have given me ?12000 for mine in px. this was against a 16 plate today so im guessing a little less early next year against the 17.

Sorry!
I picked the second to last up on 23rd Sept.
Red, all elec, alarm + HP
There was a black one left again with every optional toy

I actually think Allan Jefferies still have the black one. Back of their showroom on Friday with no plate on. Might be worth ringing them but that's Yorkshire direction unless you're willing to travel.

So I guess if a friend of mine picked up a black forged wheels and I picked up my black (standard wheels) on the 14th of October we got the last ones...certainly cleaned out Vines anyway :)
She's lovely with the carbon black can and HP trick bits; happy as Larry!

At least S1000RR Euro 4's aren't withholding on power or suffering any consequences.
I thought it would be like the ZX10R and gain weight + lose power... Seems BMW have the capability to avoid that - lets hope its not on the same level as VW / Audi Gorup ;)

Would the new colour schemes add another reason for you to upgrade (despite you having a 15 which is still the best due to its engine and road capabilities for almost all of us)?

The com website has updated colours unlike the UK website.

i think i prefer my motorsport colour. it was the wheels and no mileage i was after really. will have to wait for the gen4 now anyway as there all sold out. sometimes you have to weigh up depreciation, mileage and changing for the sake of it too. I think my bike with its mileage at the moment is a quite desirable bike so will get a better price, if i leave it another year will i still get the right deals.
