Put a deposit down on this at the weekend @ Bahnstormer Alton

It looks pretty well mint & has only done 5k miles, but is it too good to be true? The first owner looks to have taken it really easy - he's put Michelin Pilot Road tyres on it for a start (and check out those chicken strips), but the really nuts part is that the 9k rpm rev limiter is still in place from when the bike was new. Surely that's like having Elle Macpherson as your missus and only ever holding hands?

I'm assuming the original owner didn't want to use all the performance.

AIUI, the limiter would only still be on if it hasn't had the first service, or if they forgot to remove it at the first service. Alternatively, the OP might be confused between the shift light and the limiter.
