Guys for those that may not know I took my 2015 in today to replace micro switch and the dealer said you have a recall on the gear shift lever which they did under warranty of course.Amazing that if I hadn't booked in for something totally unrelated I would of not known about this.

It is worth checking if your bike needs it as the part (23 41 8 548 394) that is being replaced as part of the recall is not one that is typically changed when fitting aftermarket rearsets.

Stupid question, is there somewhere you could check online or do you contact dealer ?

Just give your local BMW Motorrad dealership a call and they will be able to confirm whether or not your bike is subject to any recalls.
 
had mine in yesterday for a service booked it in a week in advance was told yesterday it had to get a new gear shift guess what
yes they didnt have one so ive to go back again to have this done
 
That's annoying particularly as it makes zero difference to gear shifting

I think we might be getting a little confused between manufacturer recalls and vosa recalls.

Vosa list all recalls for all vehicles on their website which you can find from Google. They are issued when vosa do testing and become aware of a serious issue that could cause harm whilst using the vehicle. Manufacturers are informed and V5 information is used to contact every affected vehicle owner by post. These are serious things and are generally rare.

Manufacturer recalls are exactly that, not necessarily life or death, usually things they've spotted that could fail that can be rectified by a dealer during a workshop visit. Switchgear was a 'famous' one with these bikes for example. Often these are post production issues that become apparent after a period of real world use that prior testing missed.

Both types should be resolved by the dealer foc, and they would be able to tell you if your bike was due any work by a simple call to a service department.
