what's peoples thoughts. I was always adamant p1R was top notch stuff.

Noticed a lot of racers seem to use 300v.

This is more a hard use eg racing.

My thought is p1R is half the price of 300v but I change after 3 days of racing.

Yes too much time on my hands

I do not think you will notice any difference. Both are excellent. I have used Castrol for a long time (2-3 years) and it was good, I have used AMSOIL for a long time (5 years) which was good and now I am using Redline which seems to be good (I made 500km before lockdown). Motul was the pioneer of the full synthetic oils and I hear good things about the 300V.

Oil

I used both Motul 300V and Castrol Power 1 Race in my previous S1000RR. To be honest I couldn?t tell the difference between the two but both are very good for trackday/race use. I generally only use Motul 300V now as you can buy it in a 20L drum which is quite useful if you are changing oil regularly.

Castrol Power 1 was the OEM choice for BMW until they switched to their own formula (which I think is through Shell).

Can't go wrong with it.
