If there is no power to the dashboard and pump, I recommend to check the fuses. I think they are in the tail unit inside a box.

What year is the bike? Is it a K46 or K67? Have you checked the connections to the battery?

It's an inline 4 screamer. They never have masses of torque at the bottom end that's why no one rides them below 4k when making progress. This complaint has no validity. You want instant torque, then yes you want a V4/V2.

Could try a replacement tensioner as they can go.

Agreed - they are known to be noisy and tapping is usual at lower rpm's until they are drowned out. Video's should be uploaded to YouTube etc and then linked. Different oils can change the noise. I stick with the BMW Advantec so that there can be no questions. They don't like 300v being left...
