You don't need to pay for bike parking - you'll probably end up leaving in on the path anyway as there are literally bikes everywhere, especially race week. I never bother taking any extra locks or anything, although if you're going via Liverpool don't let your bike out of your sight!

    Rear brake issue

I use the back a lot when filtering and slow speed manoeuvres. Makes the bike much more stable. Anyway, pissed off with it now after spending all afternoon and getting nowhere with it. Rear bleed nipple doesn?t have a locknut and fluid seems to leak from under the nipple whilst bleeding, which...

    Rear brake issue

Rear brake has suddenly become basically innefective. Feels like I can push the pedal further down with little pressure, although I can see the pads move. So far I?ve removed and cleaned the pads and disc, and then bled the system - no obvious air in it though. Does this sound like a failed...

    Struggling to start when hot

Thanks. Is there anyway to test the battery? It's basically ?100ish for each, so I'd prefer to fix what's broken. I presume you changed your battery and then it did it again so you replaced the starter motor?

    Struggling to start when hot

Used the S1000RR (2011) for the commute this morning and pulled in for fuel. Went to get back on the bike and it wouldn't start. It basically only had enough battery to turn the crank the engine once, then it died. I left it 20 mins to cool down and then it was fine again. I'd noticed a few...

    Aching wrists, sore arse....

Yeah, more just out of practice after spending such a long time on an upright bike (with a comfy seat!). Core strength is actually fine - no back ache or anything - so won't take long to get the muscle memory back!

    Steady one with offspring today

Fantastic! I've been riding with my kids as pillions since they were about 8, and taking them on euro tours from 13. Last year my son was 17 and bought an MT125. Passed his test so he could take off the L plates and join me on a euro trip to Belgium to see the WW1 sites. Have to admit I was...

    Aching wrists, sore arse....

Yeah, I've done the WW1 and WW2 sights a few times now, with friends and then last year my son. Just Jane was probably one of the best experiences of my life though. What position did you get for the actual ride? I was in the tailgunner seat and when the engines fired up I close my eyes and...

    Aching wrists, sore arse....

Eyes on stalks and the most fun I've had on a bike in a long time! Finally got chance to take the new bike out a week after buying it! Got in a good 90 miles in the dales on mostly dry roads (apart from the farmers mud that nearly caught me out) It's a long time since I've ridden a sports bike...

Yeah I had a little look around whilst researching the bike and it looks like a great forum so have become a paid up member straight away - UKGSER is becoming a bit too Daily Mail these days!

    Ey up from Yorkshire

Hi there, new S1000RR owner after 5 years off sports bikes whilst I spent some time on a GS for touring with a pillion (the kids!). Still love the GS and will never sell it but had a sports bike/trackday itch I needed to scratch again (came from a GSXR1000/750/ZX9R etc before the GS). Always...
