Would also be interested in knowing how you know and how I/we can check ours and what sort of accuracy there is with this...I would have assumed BMW would have some pretty fancy trickery to stop this stuff happening...?

Thanks for the feedback guys. I had a good feeling about the dealer and the bike, and I would assume BMW being the premium brand they are wouldn't officially sell something they weren't comfortable with etc... Just being paranoid I guess...

Just posted this in the US forum but looking for as much input as possible... Put a despot down on a 2016 in Motorsport colours with only ~1,050km (~600miles?). The bike has had the following items fitted by the previous owner: - Gilles rearsets - Stompgrip tank pads - GB racing engine...

G'day all. In the market for an s1000rr, would have purchased one today (2016 model as they are in 'run-out' down here) but all the brand new Motorsport colours (with forged wheels) are gone here in Oz it seems...left it too late! Looks like I'll potentially be buying a 2017 but not quite sold...

Just to expand on this a little if I may as I may be in the market for a brand new one relatively soon...for the run-in, or at least the first few hundred km, should city riding (read bike at high temp all the time) ideally be avoided?
