    Spindle Key

Just noticed in this week's MCN that they have a Draper Spindle Key on offer. From experience they work much better than a filed down piece of wood. http://shop.motorcyclenews.com/product/340/draper-expert-spindle-key £12.29 + P&P

    Tyres for my S1000RR

Just had a pair of Bridgestone BT16 Pro fitted at £200 for the pair (fitted to loose wheel). Thet were my all I ever had fitted on the Fireblade and were unmoveable. The original fitment K3's only lastes 2000 miles before squaring off and I found them quite twitchy, hence the step back to what I...

    Quick Release Front Axle removal

I tried making one out of an old piece of wood, filed it down to size, spanner on the end... You can guess how the rest went......

    Quick Release Front Axle removal

The manual just says to "remove" it. Anyhow, ordered one from the Sportsbikeshop, linky thing below for future reference. http://www.sportsbikeshop.co.uk/motorcycle_parts/content_prod/63351 Thanks for the help, Steve.

    Quick Release Front Axle removal

Does anyone know how to remove the front quick release axle? (not so quick in my case!) I am trying to remove the front wheel (new tyres), have removed the right hand axle clamping bolts but now need to remove the axle itself. Does it just tap out or unscrew? The internal shape is Hex, does it...

    Longer, More Protective, Rear Hugger

I always run my bikes all year round, so inevitably I will be out in wet weather at some point. Does anyone know of a longer replacement rear hugger, that offers more protection to the rear underside of the bike than the standard one? Most of the replacements that I have seen are just either...

    Problem Fitting R&G Crash Protectors

Not really my style, would prefer to get the job done properly. Contact RG Racing, gave them some measurements and as we are only talking about a few millimeters, they are machining a bolt specifically for the job. Which is a good resull in my book. I will keep you all posted on how I get on...

    Problem Fitting R&G Crash Protectors

Yes I saw that and just thought that someone was a bit over zealous with the spanner but maybe the bolt is too long? Will contact RG on Monday but just wondered if there's anyone else out there with a similar exprience. Syd.

    Problem Fitting R&G Crash Protectors

Just wondered if anyone had any problem fitting R&G crash protectors? The right hand side (off-side) bolt securing the bung seems to tighten but the bung remains loose, perhaps suggesting that the bolt has gone as far into the mount as it can go but is too long to secure the frame & bung to the...

    Engine Mount Bolt Torque Setting

Does anyone know the Engine mounting bolt torque setting? looked in the manual and it doesn't say. Tried fitting my R&G crash bungs but they have sent me the wrong fitting kit so need to put the Engine bolts back in again! Thanks, Steve.

    setting up rider sag.

Thank for th vids. The reason for question is that the manual just states "Make sure there is no load on the Motorcycle, remove all items of luggage, if carried." I am still unsure where the initial reading has come from, with the bike sitting on the ground unloaded, or lifting the rear...

    setting up rider sag.

Sorry to hijack your thread, but this was next on my "to do" list so hoping someone can help. I have never done this before but can you confirm under what conditions the initial sag reading is measured? Is this with the bike on the ground but no weight onthe rear? Or is this lifting up the rear...

    Luggage

I have just been away for the weekend on my 2 week old (to me) S1K. I used a Kriega US20 on the rear hump. I didn't use the loops but passed the straps under the hump to secure the bag. Rock solid all weekend.
