In the S1000rr garage there's another thread, OEM Grip Removal, with more info. In short, feelin ur pain!

    left hand switch gear.

And the service manual says not to open the switchgear as there's a risk of damage to the sealed circuit boards. You'll need a T8 torx btw:) Also, note there's a little plastic cover on the opposite side of the switch from the grip. Its held on by 2 tabs. Lift these and it'll pop off. You are...

    de-cat

Really, really nice job mate. I replaced my cat and I had real trouble getting the remains of the cat out of the endss of the header pipes! They don't tell you that in the instructions. Then I found it really hard to get a completely airtight seal between the headers and decat. Finally, it...

    de-cat

I'm on a few other forums and I'm pretty sure I read that on the danmoto ones, there's a kind of u shaped bracket welded to the decat pipes. I think the bracket is meant to secure the decat to the underside of the sump. But it doesn't fit/line up well.

    OEM grip removal?

http://www.ukroadandrace.co.uk/quickactionthrottle No, the metal parts of the throttle cables are too close together. Just wondering why you would want to do that?

Giving thoughts to down sizing - opinions?

With this bike, I don't think you do always need to be at the top of your game. That's it's point. You can leave it 4t/5th/6th, fit a set of panniers & a tank bag and head off touring, cosseted by the electronics. But if you really want to poke it in the eye, you can:) Have you ridden on a track...

    Focused Events 05/05/2014 Siliverstone

Focused have a bit of a reputation for charging you the whole lot if you drop it and the damage is only a bar end, crash bung, lever & footpeg. Maybe they have gone more reasonable with age but that's how it used to be. Other companies just add up the cost of the damage bits and deduct that. So...

    OEM grip removal?

3 hrs? Nasty. Mines a 2010, no glue on clutch side. Wonder if the early ones had no glue at all? Quick action throttle is an SCM. Yes it includes the housing and cables. I have it on the medium cam and its pretty aggressive. I don't road ride any more so I'm just waiting for some warmish dry...

    OEM grip removal?

Yes it is on a plastic tube...but...if you undo the screw and the nut on the opposite side of the clipon, the grip won't slide off. You'll need to open up the quick release compartment on left hand switchgear and (in theory) release the 2 wiring connectors under which lies a release tab for the...
