I've got a Leo Vince full system and with no baffle it was blowing 112, with the baffle it was on the limit! So dont rev to hard at testing!

the Db level changes from track to track as it's usually set by the Local Authority (Council).

At castle combe its 105Db from 1/2 metre away stood directly behind exhaust with bike at 3/4 it's maximum revs (not including red).

So at castle combe for the S1000 it's 10.5 revs.

think ill need to make a baffle for it… there are no holes for a baffle...

it can go between the link pipe and the can , for what its worth i went down this road with an ARCs system and it only passed with a baffle which gave the bike about 170bhp on a dyno.........fuck the can off and get the proper length one for track days would be my advice.....oh dont bother with castle comb , go to a proper track ;)

Lol,
thats what Im thinking. Full length can.
Just need to find a can with the same bore as the acky and standard can ( theyre the same bore and interchangable)

My mate uses stock can on akrapovic system for track days, it's still loud so has a hole drill in for a retaining bolt, make sence really, if you bin it, you can pick a standard one up for coppers, instead of £££s for new akrapovic!

I've just fitted a danmoto link pipe to decat the bike but with the standard silencer and i really didn't expect it to be as loud as it is? I personally love the sound, also i cant put it back to standard as i cut the cat off ha. Has anyone else got the same issue? still have the standard headers. Will put a slip on can at some point.

Yes sussex, mine is loud with Danmoto and an Akra stubby.

I heard one today they are LOUD - did you have to fettle the dan-moto y link pipe to get t to fit nice? Also how much did the temp come down, without the CAT?

Cheers

Oops, didn't I mention it was gong to be loud, as most of the silencing is done by the cat, not the silencer lol. I take it the fitting went ok then Dan? :)

My Danmoto fit like a durex, no fiddling, just slid right on.

My temp would usually sit at 101, with decat it came down to low/mid 80's. And now with KN air filter even in this heat it sits at 74c

De cat and no baffle 98DB full akro system

Would imagine a lot of the silencing happens on the cat section of the standard bike, versus HP4, so I'd also imagine that the HP4 can has a lot more silencing than a standard end can or slip-on for a standard bike. I certainly can't imagine even the standard wee end can actually doing much to calm down an open pipe!

Tested at 3 different track days 5500 rpm @ 1 meter all about 98DB

Mine comes in over 120 with Akra stubby and Decat pipe.

Different tracks have different rules, because it's not usually the track that sets the noise limits, it's the local council.

My closet track (castle combe) rules are: 3/4 bikes total revs (excluding redline) at 1/2 metre directly behind exhaust and bike must come in under 105Db. So for the S1000 thats 10,500rpm.
