hmmmm, sounds like they're rigging the dyno to give bigger hp results so people recommend his ECU reflash IMO. no way an ECU flash would unlock 20bhp more than a PCV. Was the PCV dyno results done on the same dyno? If not then it's useless to compare them against each other as all dyno's are different.

MY thoughts exactly

different Dyno's both the power curve and torque curve look alot better than the dyno jet print. Figures aside the bike is more responsive at all revs. I may get a power run on the Dyno that did the PCV map see how they match up.
The dyno used for the ecu runs a DC motor not a magnet or optical system measuring pulses to gives a true kilowatt reading for true performance figures.

irrispective of the numbers on paper the before tuning and after tuning done on the same dyno and it gives 20hp, i was with the guy who did the work all the time even in the dyno room. he did nothing to the dyno. just the bike

So which is it? The same or different dyno's?

Could you post up the before and after printouts? Thanks.

I will get the graph scanned and posted, the graph shows a run without the power commander just exhaust and then the run with the ecu mapped. 20hp from stock ecu to mapped ecu.

Hi mate, the guy you mentioned earlier regarding messaging him on Facebook to have his done was me! i seen/heard he was getting 205-215 at the wheel by flashing the ECU with no PC5 and this sounded fehkin awsome so i was messaging him about it, does seem like a lot of BHP though!!!! what did he charge you? i am very tempted to take my PC5 off and get mine booked in too!

Mine is currently 196.77 at the wheel with full akra system and PC5 w/custom map

I was stood next to him when he was talking with you. the price he quoted you is what i paid. I had a PCV on with full Akro and was getting 187 at my local dyno place although i think they just plug it in and go through the auto tune.

The difference is amazing the bike feels more responsive all through the rev range.
at the end of the day its cheaper than buying a PCV and paying to have a custom map?????

So how much did you pay for this re-flash? Several people have asked yet no reply yet!!!! Spill the beans!!

I'm most interested in the alleged "smoothing" of the DTC and Traction control. The standard DTC on the bike is absolutely **** compared to all other manufacturers stock systems (the only one I've not tried is Yamaha).

Could he "back off" the DTC and anti-wheelie without changing the stock ECU fuelling do you know?

I'm going to presume you never had a custom map on your PCV? Funnily enough 187 RWBHP is what mine was making with the generic off the shelf Akky Map off he Dynojet website. This map was shockingly **** with a massive dip in fuelling about 7k RPM. After DWR (ex BSB racer and dyno magician) sorted my custom map it had 194.1 BHP from an engine yet to loosen up with 800 miles on it. If you never had had your PCV custom mapped I think you're doing it a slight disservice!

Its £360 mate, i am booked in for the 23rd of March, gives me a couple weeks to save, and to take off the PC5 and sell it :D . . Give them a ring bud see if you can get in that date too, have a little meet up.

I might call him up and see if be can just adjust the DTC levels.

Having just spent out on a custom map I'm not going to spend again on the assumption I might get a few more horses. There's more than enough as it is and I'm very happy with my throttle response now.

Incidentally, my brand new PCV and custom map was £300. Way less than a re-flash ;-)

I'm looking at it as ill get £200 for my PC5 that was already on the bike so it's only going to cost me an additional £150 odd and that's worth it just for the sorting of the DTC in my eyes but yes I can see if from your view having just spent £300 on the PC and map

That said Chris. I'd be very interested to see what gains a re-flash has over the PCV?

Shame you can't travel up, dyno it with the PCV on, remove it and then get the ECU done. Much better comparison and will dispel any theories about his power results being "faked"!!!

I'm not too sure about this guys. The BM is a temperamental ****** at best. Is the flashing of the ECU the way forward ?

Can't help but think this could potentially end up in a blow up !

Im with hooper on this one anyway The bike has more than enough power for the road without getting more out of it than you can use
If your racing I can understand trying to make make more power but for the road I can't

The cost was £360 the traction in standard is set to level 8 he states its now at 3 so will not cut in as sharp.
The anti wheelie should be a lot smoother
