I went out for a spin to meet my daughter from work and escort her home on her RC125 - we got split up at some lights, so knowing she'd boot her bike around the estate to try and beat daddy, I took a different route and luckily, got home first.

I did see this on the dash as I pulled into the garage - never got that far into the T/C before - cant even remember at what point it would have happened - is it really that transparent and un-intrusive?

The DTC is a very good system but you certainly notice it intervening on track.

I notice it on the road, I find at 43+ lean angle its constantly cutting the power. Im in user mode on level 4 but think thats a fairly high setting so slowly working it down untill I find the sweet spot.

I ride my bike in race mode, what's the default setting for that as I never see the T/C light come on (old school rider!)?

I used to ride in race mode, but after Ryan posted a table that described the differences between the sport and race modes, i decided that there was little difference, so opted for the slightly more comfortable 'sport' mode - easier on the arse bones. You still get the full fat 199bhp, but the nanny is a bit more alert - which I'm happy with. In all honesty, having ridden in both modes for some time, I can't actually tell the difference.

I wouldn't worry about that much intervention as it might have just been that you hit a damp patch at slow ish speed and it did a more considerable cut.
The DTC intervention varies considerably, but for the most part is very "soft".

With regard to settings, I find "User Mode" the only mode I ever ride in as it is totally customisable.
For example, I have the throttle (aka engine) in Slick, the DTC in Slick, the DDC in Sport and the ABS in Race.
This set up allows for the softest DDC response, the closest to a 1-1 throttle connection and ABS that is active at the rear and still provides "roll over" protection.

I have the DTC set at -4 in the dry as this is very subtle and allows you to be quite aggressive without feeling the holdback from the DTC.
If it rains I just click it waaay up.

P.S. Mac, I believe the default DTC setting for any standard mode is "0"
