always been a fan of the Yamahas , have had a few R6's and R1's previously.
I have to say I like this bike a lot , will be interested to see how it goes in the TT and BSB , wouldn't be to keen in a 1st Gen bike having had an early S thou , though.
Would probably wait till 2nd Gen and hopefully most of the glitches have been ironed out.

I think it's a bigger challenger for my money in the future than the other litre bikes available. Agree with fatbob I think 2016 is the year to look at them as most of the bugs will be ironed out. But its a looker, it's got the weight vs power balance right on paper...and a crossplane exhaust note.

I thought it was interesting that the new R1 comes with lean angle sensitive abs, isn't that ABS Pro we are being asked a chunk of change for on the hp4? Also the semi active suspension with the ability to plot setup changes based on position on track. That's very cool, although probably totally wasted on me!

So are Yamahas a bit unreliable / niggly? I have zero experience of them...

Is that not on the limited R1-M?

I don't know mate, info?

I thought it was the limited ?19k R1-M that has all the bells and whistles on and there bringing about 90 a year into UK and the std R1 was just like the s1000rr but cant be specked up.

Thanks :). That is interesting, from my perspective with an HP4 Carbon, the R1-M looks very tasty, maybe even better? Certainly more tech and less production :). ? for ? they are almost the same on first glance. I like its looks.

I think you had to apply in Jan to buy one and pay a deposit for delivery in march for R1-M so will almost def all be sold or resold for a big prof in March
