I must replace my Textiles from 2010 mainly with an eye on touring inc the NC500.

Anyone have an idea on the best jackets with a neckline suitable for a Sports Bike, big collars get in the way of a helmet on a sports bike, so thinking something with a neoprene neck or something like that?

Ideally I want a matching set, wearable in all seasons. Budget no more than ?800 for a suit (which precludes Rukka straight away) (I need to get some new touring boots too :( )

I've found the RST adventure range to be excellent value for money, adaptable and practical for all weather conditions and perfectly comfortable for use on a Sports bike

I?ve been using the RST Ventilator suit for last few years, cut for sportsbike use,dry and warm. Jacket doesn?t interfere with head movement, just need to use a neck tube on really cold days.

They make me think of;

I used to wear Sidi's Lovely boot with lots of feel but, they were a tad Narrow so changed to TCX

Wider fit works for me and my metatarsals!
I thought TCX were supposed to be better in this regard so was going to look at them or Daytona?s.

Its rubbish that the industry doesn?t look after different foot shapes when boots are so unforgiving. (Excluding expensive m2m solutions)

I have wide feet and find my TCX boots pretty snug, I certainly wouldn't want the boots any narrower

Daytona are certainly amenable to wide feet.

I have rather wide feet and am very happy with my Daytona Evo Voltex Gore-Tex boots, I find them to be an excellent all-round sport boot that is all-day comfortable on the bike (wouldn?t want to walk too far in them though).
Alternatively, if you were interested in something a little less sporty, you could consider the Daytona Strive Gore-Tex boot. This could be a good combination for you if you already have a non Gore-Tex sport boot?

Hi Alex.
I've picked up some bargains at the "Infinity Motorcycle Clearance Warehouse" in Camberley over recent years, which might be of interest if you're not bothered with the latest style.
Including: Alpinestars boots, a one piece leather suit and a leather jacket all at half price or less, however it can be pot-luck; sometimes I've been and they've had rod all.
Cheers
Hugh

ps. I got a top notch textile jacket recently on zero percent finance from Sportsbikeshop, which helped the pennies.

That’s about bang on I think for a set of Halverssons if you shop around and I loved mine.... worth trying.

Appears to be good stuff...not sure where I can find some to try them on.

When I started this I was looking at the HELD Imola 2 and Dover set.

RST's appear to be a very popular choice and then there's the perennial favourite, Hein Gericke...
With so much choice on the market it all gets quite confusing!
And then there's the boots...

Yeah looks like a trek out would be needed - Motolegends seems to be as close as any others.

I recently switched to alpinestars from these, I loved them but can totally agree with the narrow fit. They are brutal to walk about in too. Not that i walk around in my motorbike boots like going out for a pint or that but you know what i mean!!

The A-Stars SuperTech-R's are supposed to be mega comfy...if I'm going to pay Daytona money I should try them on too.
