Just came across this article on the bbc website.
Synopsis is that a number of regions have turned all their fixed speed cameras off.
Half of UK road speed cameras are switched off

Dont know if I would risk finding out which ones are on, but at least it takes the pressure off scanning for these things instead of looking for actual road hazards.
