Sounds like you had a good one. Iv had no end of trouble with the gearbox on my S1000. It's now up for sale. It's had new everything.

Baz is a good lad. Extremely knowledgable and always good for some advise.

Think the last time I was there I was getting consistent 2:05 lap times toward the end of the day. Sent 300 is a fantastic circuit. One of my favs

I'm sure that bike was one of the forum members bikes ? PJK's old one

Very good spot matey! The bike is still mine underneath but i bought PJ's Alpha Racing fairings - i also bought his Ohlins TTX rear shock and 30mm fork cartridge set. Im keeping the colour scheme the same at the moment but may change it if i decide to keep the bike into next season.

Problems changing between 6/5 are early indications of the gear selector shaft wear, the part that moves the selector star.
I was told this by an individual who raced BMW s1000rr's for a couple of years.
To prevent further damage it should be changed. He ended up changing his after every few meetings.
He said another thing that helped was to keep the arm and the shaft of your quick shifter at 90 deg to each other, this seemed to reduce the wear.

Regards
Davy

Can anyone recommend a specialist/independent garage that would do the work for me? BMW main dealer wont touch my bike now as its in full track guise and the HMR Quickshifter also invalidates the warranty.

Crazy isnt it? You fit something of better quality in an effort to prolong life in an in-adequate part and it invalidates any warrenty........

Hoops, is it me or was the photographer taking particularly bad photos? Very few 'action' shots, on the monday they were either before the bend, after the bend or long distance lol.

Totally agree actually Keith with both your comments - and funnily enough i spoke to Peter after the day ended and he seemed half asleep!! Maybe he was suffering with heat stroke!!??
