I'm putting a deposit down this week, and was told that it will be around £15k or around £18k with the competion pack.

Sounds good! I'm going to look at one soon as it arrives!

spoke to a dealer yesterday, they think about 16-17k for standard and 19-20k for the performance model with carbon fibre fairing HP levers and footrests and the titanium exhaust.

So the standard HP4 sounds like it 'only' gets the reactive suspension and lighter wheels over a sports pack equipped bog standard model. The cheque book is staying in the drawer.

I'm proper gutted about this. £15,500 is a bargain for what you get over the standard bike. I so wanted it to be out of reach at £20k+ but now I'm fairly pissed off I bought the standard model just days before the HP was announced.

Arse.

If the 2014 S1000RR Sports model has active suspension it might be cheaper (& more fun) just to tart that up to your own specification & forgoe the HP stamp.
