Guys i need some input, i was out on the bike at the weekend and i was coming to a stop at a junction and when i pressed the rear brake the amount of travel in it felt huge. I mean for it to actually have any effect on braking my foot was at an uncomfortable angle.
I don't recall it ever having this much travel, can someone have a look at the video and check theirs to see what its like.

No ABS lights, Pads are fine and the fluid level is fine. The only thing i can think of is that air has somehow got into the line or the master cylinder has a problem.

Thanks

I never use mine but that looks normal to me? I've got the HP sets and it goes down about the same distance. As long as your rear works I wouldn't worry.

I've had to bleed mine every now and again to keep it from feeling spongy, just done it again this week end

That amount of travel does seem to much, will check my bike tonight. If there is air in the system you could cable tie the lever down overnight to see if that helps.

Have you noticed that the rear brake lever works at a higher position when the front brake is being used at the same time?

Checked mine for you. 2011 with OE pads half worn, mine has less travel than yours but not by much.

My rear brake lever was very low and on the first service when i asked them to look into it they said that there was no adjustment. I returned a few weeks later to have some R&G bungs fitted and again asked them to check the brake. I watched the mechanics for two hours as they got rid of air in the system. It is now fine. It may be the same sort of issue with yours.

I'm bored and i remembered this thread so i thought i'd update you.

Bike went in for a service a few weeks after i posted, service came back with this as a problem and needed bled, BMW wanted £70 if i remember right, i declined there offer and did it myself.
Air must have got into the system somehow and i do recall going over a few crests at speed so i think i must have tapped the rear brake at the wrong time or ABS did something weird...
