Hows it goin Colin...I thought of solar but ruled it out without really looking into it, probably because I didn't fancy fitting one of the panels onto the roof...Clean lines and all that)...

I'll actually fit one of the DC to DC systems sometime but at ?300 before Battery it can wait, I'm not overly fussed about charging on the move as it's getting less of a priority by the day, but food for thought that... there not a bad size on that site...and inexpensive..hmmmmmm

EDIT:... Think I'll stick with a battery and trickle charge, as long as i can get something that will last for a couple of days that will do the now...scunnered paying out money you know on vain important things like alloy wheels and big fat tyres lol

Battery arrived today, perfect fit to slip through the cargo hatch and loads of space left over for whatever, carpeted the bulkhead and fitted Altro Walk Way flooring, this stuff is super hard wearing and a pure ******* to cut, a Stanley Blade lasts two minutes, I went through 8. I made a back and front of some of the cut outs as I did with carpeting the bulkhead so I had to patch a couple of bits which will annoy me, Rob Carson said only I'd notice it lol...still !.

Anyhow onto the front lights and switch bank when my battery terminals and some 70 amp cable arrives in the next day or so..

Never thought of that, I usually just lash them down....are there standalone ones where you don't have to secure or bolt on ?

I've got one of these Constands ones. It works fine in the back of a hire van without fixing if bike is well strapped down, but it has fixing holes for permanent mounting.

Same.

If I owned a van I'd get the proper bolt down job though. Because it's narrower and doesn't slide...it's not likely to get in the way if positioned right.

Looks similar to the Constands design but at a better price. As long as you strap the bike down well it will be fine during transport.

Sometimes a bit of a faff getting bike off the stand once you are unloading if you are alone as stand can move at that point, but I've always managed it.

I have mine loose so it can be placed anywhere, it's amazing how better you can pack the van. Just put a, some, d-ring s along the bottom fixings for the bulkhead to lash the front of the stand down which is easier when the tyre sticks removing the bike.

Aye, I'll look at that when it arrives, cheers fellas.. ran the bike up and down a few times today, easy peasy... done a dry run on this wee switchbank, even with the airbed compressor and both USB sooking juice, the battery dropped about 4 amps, but has recovered to 12.59 which is what it was out the poke.. ill happily bench charge it till I sort out a euro 6 DC/DC compatible charger..

Damn, I'll need to run a separate switched feed from the battery to the second strip of lights, I thought I could use that second live but the LEDs are quite dim, not sure the on/off switch has the correct capacity.

Vans looking spot on mate.

Just put a ratchet strap across the wheel chock and it?ll hold it in place when you?re pulling the bike out.

Chances are you?ll put the bike in the chock after being on track and the tyres will still be hot meaning that they stick to the chock. If you?ve strapped the chock in then it?s much easier to get the bike out afterwards.

Jumped into Machine Mart, expecting some choices, there wasn't much, a traditional Green Jerry can was like 30 odd quid and then 7 quid for some filling contraption to go with it....side issue: I've never walked out of a machine mart thinking I got a good deal, I think it's an expensive shop.

Anyhow Zoro tools have a 20ltr plastic container for 12 quid ..looks the dugs...can I get that or do I need to buy a certain brand/type or that..
