It looks like the PB mag will be no more. It is going to be absorbed by sister mag Practical Sports Bike. I've subscribed to PB for many years and, personally, found it to be the best bike mag out there. So this comes as a bit of a disappointment. PB over the years have been a huge advocate of the RR with it being their Sport Bike of the year for the last 8+ years. It was their reviews that got me into RR ownership for the last 6 consecutive years. A sad loss.

I agree. Best mag by far, though I remain hopeful that its absorption into PS will create a decent hybrid!

End of an era, I've been buying PB since it was first launched - morphed out of 'Motorcycle Mechanics' if memory serves me well so merging with PS I guess kind of takes it back to where it originally emerged from..

I devoured Motorcycle Mechanics mag when I was young... They had brilliant step by step strip downs every issue... for whatever reason I always remember the issue where they done a replacement cam chain tensioner on a CX500...they were notorious..probably 1980 or thereabouts..

Was always a SuperBike reader from back in the day... think it was one of the first to go online only several years ago now! Never really gelled with PB or FB as a kid, but in the absence of SB, PB became the go to (still couldn't get away with reading FB), and now we're losing that :disturbed:. Ho Hum, the steady march of progress.

Well I've given the new mag three months to see what its like. Its not for me. I'm lucky if I can find 3 pages of stuff I want to read. And what happened to the RR review that they were supposed to be running??

I spend a lot of time on the PB forum and their staffers post on there - basically they weren't invited to the launch. Agree about the mag - the PB bit has been basically non-existent for the last 2 months and the majority of the PS bit is dull, dull and dull............

I'm with Stuart, Motorcycle Mechanics was a superb publication, it became as we all know Performance Bikes, Mad Mark Foster (I think?) brilliant, comprehensive reviews and always a lengthy piece dedicated to mirrors!? Mirrors you couldn't see out of [emoji23]

I'm glad I'm not the only one who's disappointed at the pathetic demise of PB into a couple of pages within a classic bike mag. I bought PB from the start and while I accept that biking trends and on line 'magazines' have probably made PB commercially untenable I find it hard to accept the editors claim that there's insufficient performance bike orientated content to fill 30 pages. All the major manufacturers currently sell fast bikes whether faired or unfaired, domestic track and road racing is well attended and is at level only surpassed by world series, track days remain incredibly popular and we have many talented bike tuning specialists and yet there's not enough there to make a proper fist of keeping PB going within another magazine?

I finally bought a subscription in '15 when I got my new RR, I agree, the articles on the bike were good, informative, and detailed, and many! I preferred Matt Wildee's stewardship of the magazine, he left for MCN about 3 years ago
and I found Chris Newbiggins editing a bit ladish, and a little puerile, plus the effort put into articles dropped in my opinion. I loved the mag over the years, and in '15 won a place on their Rockingham trackday, bought some raffle
tickets, and was given a session on track with John McGuinness. Man, what a geeza and gentleman he was. He pulled a stand up wheelee from the start, to the end of the walled straight, all this with me 6 ft behind him, marvelling in
John's skill and panache! I was a properly average trackdayer then, but he was so generous and encouraging, a really cool guy who had time for you, and even signed my X-Spirit J MC lid which I'd bought because it was reduced at the time!
Great day that was, sad about the mag really.
