Ok so I have an oil leak from the left hand engine case , it would appear that the rubber grommet that seals the cables from the alternator is damaged, and they aren't available to buy without purchasing a complete alternator and loom assembly complete . Local dealer suggested silicon , but it was already covered in something and it hadn't worked, cost me most of the last day on a 3 day euro trackday , Phil Crowe doesn't have one , any ideas ?

Are you sure there is an oil leak?
My bike has the rubber grommet has peeled away and "looks" like it is leaking but it is actually dirt from the chain

The oil was all over my boot fairing belly pan footrest , made my foot slip off

Could we have some pictures?

Take the case off and re apply the silicon, fairly normal place to use it on the stator cable.

You may want to get a new stator case gasket as well.

i don't think there's a gasket, i think its all siliconed on. grey silicone.

Maybe, on my old bikes I never bothered with gaskets I just used silicone and it worked fine.
