Gyroscopic effect, those were the words that I'd lost ;)

I was only offering some sort of explanation behind what I was suggesting, in my opinion there's nothing worse than people just shouting there favourite mods and products with no reasoning behind there suggestion.

Until I bought the s1k I'd never played with lightweight wheels and found the difference bloody amazing, it's one of those mods that many people overlook because of the initial outlay my self included on my two previous bikes. Admittedly i was a bit more skint when I had my cbr and gsxr and now it's the s1k that makes me skint!
The reduction in weight makes the wheels spin up faster too :)

You know I was having a laugh,of course having lighter wheels will improve overall handling, but on the street,it's not worth doing anything really, unless maybe the suspension, which I'll be doing next year. I'll change the front fork internals but not rear shock. At my level of riding I don't see the point of changing much. But next year I'll be doing even more track days,so we shall see ;) This bike is an animal! I think the best thing is you can do is fit a parachute lol slow it down!

I had Magnesium Wheels on my 748RS. The diffrence between the Mags and stock were night and day...

I miss that bike :-(

Maybe r and g should do a parachute tail tidy! Could be useful

I only done the ohlins front and rear because someone offered me a ttx rear and front internals sprung to my weight for a grand out of an ex race bike but it was a noticeable difference in ride quality and how the bike holds its lines

ha ha sounds good! I think like I said,it would be the Ohlins route, and if you got a deal then why not,I'd do the same. But I've spent far too much money on the bike now and it will just be fork internals and setup. It's getting more tricky explaining the extra mods, wink wink. She's looking over my shoulder now lol.................

Every time I get asked I divide by two and hide the receipts ;D
lol, makes note. She's not looking now,so I can add this to my excuse list!

K-Tech do a valve and spring kit for the S1000RR forks. I think it's about £450 fitted. Less than half the cost of a 30mm Cart Kit.

I was told that you should get at least 600 miles on the clock before you should even touch the suspension, and that the settings differ in the warm/cold. Being a relative dullard compared to most here, I was wondering if this was right.

From one dullard to another, i think you'd have to be a bit good to notice that slight difference........ :-\

The weight savin of a full system sounds tempting but which full system? for a 2012 bike can I have a list with prices:O)
I would like a datalogger too where do I get one for less than £470..

I can tell my tight fisted Yorkshiremans ways are going to clash with s100rr ownership

There's loads of full systems about, I've got an Austin racing gp2 system but they also do a system that cuts the cat off the stock headers and puts a y pipe in its place, goods gains and weight saving as the cat is the heavy bit. Not that expensive either.

Something to do with letting the springs bed in, anyhow I had over 2k on the clock before I got my suspension sorted out in Wandsworth. Rides 100% better now.
