HP4 Race

I was invited to the HP4 Race test event earlier this month at Valencia. You get 20 minutes on track riding the HP4 Race. Unfortunately I couldn't make it which was rather disappointing.

What do you use every other session?
Standard RR?
Your own bike?

HP4 Race

You get one 20 minute instructed riding session using a standard S1000RR. This is then followed by a 20 minute test ride onboard a HP4 Race. The event concludes after a further 20 minute session onboard an S1000RR before returning to the hotel. It's certainly not a trackday and the event is aimed at potential HP4 Race buyers.

No one is buying though so they might as well rent them...

Still, a pointless motorcycle. Bmw must have known that the market for a ?68k trackbike, that, lets face it, is going to be matched in some way with the next gen rr, is going to be smaller than anything that makes commercial sense. Next step should be to give me one to bore everyone about on here.

If I had a spare ?68,000 I would certainly love to own one.

My dealer promised a road version would follow, but still has no news.

Ducati had no probs selling Superlegga and Desmos for around the same and a lot more money, BMW are missing a trick.

Bmw should have made a road version which came with a track pack like the MV F4 RC, Honda RC213V-S (still catchy as ever) and the various Duc specials.

An enterprising person could make a kit for the HP4-Race and sell it to those able to afford the bike to start with.

Just like how tuners put McLaren P1 GTRs on the road.
