Hello all!

just wanted to pop past here and say hi, I'm new to this forum. I've upgraded to a 2015 s1000rr blue / white from a yam r1. Looking forward to getting to know people.

one thing I need to do, is get a slip on pipe, was looking at Austin racing GP2R? Does anyone know if it's worth the money? Where is best to post about exhaust chat?

thanks guys

Welcome and merry Christmas , plenty of posts about slip ons , I've been pondering whether to get Austin racing can for mine , hopefully I've been good this year and Santa brings me new toys for the bike , fingers crossed .

Cheers dude, merry Christmas to you too! Yeah I've been having a look at pipes and I'm torn tbh. Pity the 2015 standard exhaust didn't allow for a decat link pipe. I'm torn whether to go for the full system or just slip on but I want a decent note at the same time. I think I've been good this year too haha

Hi B33fys, welcome to the site. Good time to buy with the heatwave that you're having in Aberdeen!
was up at Balmoral last week and it was 14 degrees, it was cooler in July.

Great bike you've got, lots of customised parts available, take care and enjoy.

The cats on the '15 have little effect on power and the headers are pretty good-fit an Arrow or Akrapovic(or similar)end can and link pipe.

In fairness Baz it does have to be said that whilst the CAT might not have much of an effect on power it does have one on noise, a friend of mine recently bought a 2015 bike and I think he hasn't even put 50 miles on it yet but the first thing he bought was an AR GP2R slip on, now it has a deeper tone to it as expected but it is nowhere near as noisy as you would expect from a stubby that small and with such a large bore on it. Maybe at higher revs but it hasn't got a particularly loud growl at the bottom end.

Thanks for the warm welcome people! Yes Aberdeen is cold even usually at the best of times, just have to warm the tyres up though, no issues hehe!

With regards to the pipe I have read that the cat inside the headers show little resistance. However if I wanted to do away with the cat i would need to buy fancy headers. Can't purchase a link pipe to my knowledge? The standard headers are all one piece? I was looking at the AR GPR2 slip on, however the only issue is at a later date I couldn't then install AR headers to suit their slip on? That's what they told me. Unless I purchase a full system from day one. I don't then wanna buy the slip on to find its too quiet, I'm torn lol! Would also require a PC5 and a tune on dyno if I went full system, hmmm lol.

Cheers

That's the trouble with you noisy people!!!-I'm only interested in passing noise tests on track!
