Has anybody changed the gearing on a 2010 model was thinking of going -1 on the front

I was going to start my own thread but i'll tag on the end of this one if its ok
Im changing my gearing to 16f 46R which i belive is -1 +2 for track use

my question is does changing the gearing have any effect on the traction contol?
and last part of question do different tyre radius's have any effect on the TC?

Unless you are at an extremely short track, -1 +2 will be too low, I tried that at Pembrey and kept hitting the rev limiter.

I would say just go -1 on the front to start and then see how you like it or -1F +1R, which is where I am at.

As far as I know, neither the gearing or the tyre size will make a difference to the TC, I have tried 190 an 200 section rears and it made no difference, I also have changed the gearing and again it made no difference.

The factory builds in a 10% factor to take care of this.

Just ordered chain and sprockets gone for -1 front see what its like cheers for the replies

I generlly ride at croft, east fortune and knockhill which a very tight, start stop tracks and you get no where near top gear so ill start with -1 +2 but ill take onboard your advice and i'll get +1 rear sprocket for the spares box anyway

2010 would be -1+2 but 2012-on would normally be -1+1 for most circuits. For tight tracks, you are probably spot-on although,of course it's all a compromise as sometimes you are better changing overall ratios to optimize(as an example) 2nd gear and maybe not using 6th.
