Hi Guys,

I currently have fitted to my bike stock down-pipes cat etc. and the BMW factory Akrapovic slip on can that looks like this:

I've just purchased a second hand full exhaust system that looks like this:

As the end can supplied with it isn't in the greatest condition My question is Can I fit my smaller original Akra slip on to those titanium down-pipes? Or do I need to purchase something else like a different connecting link pipe?

I plan on removing my stock system at the weekend. Do I move the Lambda sensors over to the titanium down-pipes? Also what do I do with the flap cables etc from the old Cat system?

Also does anyone know if the end can supplied in the picture has baffles? My current smaller end can doesn't have the option but at the moment with the stock down-pipes/cat etc. it just passes track-day noise tests but I would imagine with the full down-pipes it would be too loud so was hoping I could put some baffles in and use that for track-days only as its pretty tatty anyway.

Thanks in advance!
James

First of all great purchase on the full titanium system!!!

No you can't fit the short slip on direct on the full system because the link pipe is different... You need the link pipe for the short one...
The lambda sensors i think that you have to put them to the new system to let the ecu to autocorrect(between some limits) the afr. If someone know somethink better write it.
I have heard that you remove the cables from the cat and either you hide them either you remove them from the servo motor... DO NOT TURN THE SERVO MOTOR
The long pipe i am sure that it has buffle maybe he forgot to send it to you... Ask him....
That's all what i know, i wish this help.
Sorry for my english i am from Greece and it have been years since i got the Lower in English

Thanks Bud. Yep makes sense! Thought I may need another link pipe for the short one. Don't suppose anyone knows a part number for this or where I would be able to get one from? I did try searching but couldn't seem to find anything suitable.

Yeah I haven't received it yet should be here in a couple of days so will see then if he included the baffle with it fingers crossed he has. OK so I leave the cables in situ but just hide them. OK got it I will not turn the servo motor.. Trying to see if there is a how to guide out there to make life a little easier.. Knowing BMW you probably need specialist tools too!

Thanks again BTW your English is very good! :)

Take cables of motors as well or they will snag and motor will send error code. akrapovic.com has full pdf instructions. There is a screw hole in end cap if muffler that holds in the baffle tube. 45 quid for a new one!

Your going to need to remap with a short can as well. Long can and standard air filter and according to akra you dont need to adjust fuelling

Cheers Guys. I've just found the Install guide on Akra's website its here if anyone needs it in the future: http://az79640.vo.msecnd.net/akrapovicbppmultimedia/0b8f79438478421d86986f55c935ff3f.pdf

I have a PC5 fitted already so will see if I can download a different map for now. I plan on getting it custom mapped on a dyno eventually anyway just got to find a good place to take it. Also ordered some new gaskets from BMW so hopefully providing it all arrives by the weekend it will give me something to do over Easter.
