I've finally found the bike I want ('12 model) and it's due to be collected in 2 weeks.

Now it needs to be converted for the track, and so would like to ask advise/help on choosing an exhaust system - I'm afraid that lugging the 12/13kg standard system around a race track doesn't sit well with me and isn't very motorsport.....

However I want a system that's quiet (I must getting old!) - I'm not interested in drawing attention or giving more reason to NIMBYs already complaining at race track noise as it is.

Does anyone know which systems are the quietest? My GSXR1000K2 Morowaki full Ti system has been measured at 97/98dB and it makes a healthy 165BHP, so it can be done. I quite like the Arrow Evo-2 system as the can is tucked away out of sight and very understated.

Other stuff I've got on the shopping list:

Fairing - Alpha
Reasets - Diasec
GB engine covers
Clip-ons - Harris
Brake lines - Hel
Chain & sprockets - standard item look terrible, not sure what to replace it with yet though.

Cheers

Great news on the bike fella, well done. Ive only got the end can but the Akro's seem popular and not too bad on the noise front re sound testing. My stubby was only showing 95 db at Cadwell the other week but obviously its not a full system and still runs through the cat. Good luck with whatever you opt for.

Thanks. After more digging I've found reviews saying the Arrow Evo-2 system is LOUD! Guess that one's off the shopping list then......

If you want quiet then I would go with the Akra race or similar. About 100dB with no killer in.

he is right , the arrow system with a proper length pipe is very quiet , in fact it sounds like a bloody car.
thats what i am running at the moment

My Arrow System is LOUD. But you can put a baffle in. I'd recommend going for a full Akrapovic system these tend to make more power than any of the other manufactures (if that's what your after). The stock chain and sprockets are fine, infact I'm still using the stockers. Ill only be changing them when they need it. Alpha fairings are brilliant if not a little expensive. Have a word with Mike Fritton at RaceSpares UK, he can supply great quality race fairings for half the price of Alpha Stuff.
