Chain & Sprockets

You will have absolutely no issues at all providing they are fitted correctly.

If your on road. Fit a 525, don't think you will gain anything with a 520, just a short chain life

Paul, quick question (i should probably know the answer!) Which is OEM 525 or 520? Also, what are you thoughts on changing sprocket sizes for the road? And would that affect warranty? I'm 99% road use with the odd track day and the bike is already crazy fast for me....i'll probably never ride the bike at top speed so just wondering if i could maybe squeeze a bit more usable mid range torque out of the bike by changing sprocket sizes? Sorry for the noob question...i love the bike as it is but interested in your thoughts for a possible tweak at some point in the future?? Cheers :)

If I may, 525 is OEM, designed for durability.
Running a 16T (-1) on the front makes things lively without going too silly. Still cruises well.

Chain Pitch

If your bike is predominantly used on the road with the occasional trackday then your best off sticking with a 525 pitch chain and sprockets for longevity. If your doing a lot of trackdays, or are racing, and are routinely altering gearing then a 520 pitch chain and a selection of sprocket sizes is the way to go.

Gearing

Changing sprocket sizes (gearing) does not affect the speedo.

To add to that mate, I wouldn't know the effect on the warranty. I would throw that at BMW service desk. I assume They will tell you it needs genuine parts etc, ask for that in writing referenced to a document. They won't be able to produce that I would guess. Then get your own kit, for what it costs to get BMW to fit it buy I proper chain kit and do it yourself.
Somewhere on here I've shown what ones we use and they are simple and bullet proof.
