I have to say that rather than go the full hog and spend money on the Ilmerger stuff which is undoubtedly top of the tree stuff I ended up buying from Carbon World after having had a good chat with Paul Train who owns the business. He advised me to go for the Twill stuff as it is as close to looking like the Ilmberget stuff as you can get.
Naturally I was a little worried at what I was going to be getting considering that in most cases the parts he is selling are less than half of the price of the Ilmberger stuff and generally speaking it can be said that you get what you pay for.
However, I cannot fault the Carbon he has sent me, his service was second to none too having got it all out to me before Xmas and well packed.
Not a blemish on it and polished and as shiny as any off the shelf carbon I have ever bought before.
But definitely the Twill weave rather than the Plain weave, my bike seems to have carbon tank sides and upper fairings that I think were made by Austin Racing and this stuff is far better!
(and so they are being replaced too).
But i have bought the front mudguard, tank sides, upper fairings, frame protectors and hugger/chainguard as I like my carbon (not convinced I will fit it all as I may have play with the look of it first) but I don't think you will be disappointed with the quality of it if you decide to buy from there
