The plastic pieces in the pictures were once a single piece...BMW in their stupidity made a 3 sided support out of weak ABS which can take zero punishment.
Design flaws aside it's a neat solution and I was thinking it would be great if I could send it to someone (or a new one) to have it made out of carbon in the first place and not need the special cover (which blows away if you don't use sticky tape - another blunder). Whilst the cover is nice the point of it is to hold the 2D GPS Mouse which could be secured via its own magnet or velcro so they really fixed the wrong issue...
Anyone know of a low volume carbon piece maker that could take both pieces and create something new. I suspect a lot of 2023+ owners would be interested as the OEM part is so rubbish.
