Cam chain rattle

Hello i have cam chain rattle at cold start for 2-3 sec , as i know its problem for all S1000RR . Some people recomends to change black cap with silver ones after 15K km but does it realy stops rattle at start or better to buy manual APE chain tensioner ?

I had a rattle on my XR and the change of cap did sort it.

I replaced the cap with silver and no more rattle at start great

I've just got the silver one, it came with 2 o rings, the big one is for the plug but can't see where the little one would go?
I've looked at my haynes manual and bmw CD, they don't show it. MAXBMW parts fiche doesn't either, but the photo of the part shows 2 inc the little one! I suppose it will be obvious when I pop it out (oh err) but wondered if any one else had done it and could advise? had a scan through the threads and didn't see a mention. (probably fit it next week sometime anyway, looks simple enough.)

Changed mine for an APE on my gen 1

I’ve gone to manual tensioners on both my Gen 3 & Gen 4. Sounds like a proper engine instead of one that’s dropped a valve.
